Academic Council provides decisions, recommendations and advice on issues raising and addressing academic issues.
The Academic Council shall primarily be concerned with all the academic affairs of the college, encompassing academic staff, academic planning, instructional issues, students, co-curricular activities, residence halls and discipline and so on. It is the responsibility of Academic Council to endeavor and ensure the best practices are implemented and standards are maintained.
Functions & Responsibilities
- Framing and revising the curriculum of every academic program of the college as per prescribed norms.
- Arranging teaching requirements for the successful completion of academic programs.
- Making necessary arrangements for conducting examinations as required.
- Recommending to the Governing Council for the conferment of degrees and other academic titles.
- Supervising and ensuring the effective functioning of the Central Library of the college.
- Promoting and encouraging research activities within the college.
- Collaborating with other academic institutions and industry for academic and research development.
- Creating a conducive environment for the development of entrepreneurship among students.
- Ensuring discipline among students within the campus.
- Facilitating and supervising co-curricular activities for the overall development of students.
- Encouraging students through awards, stipends, scholarships, medals, and prizes.
- Guiding students to effectively utilize placement and training activities for career enhancement.
- Appointing committees consisting of faculty members and external experts to address specific academic issues and acting upon their recommendations after due consideration.
- Conducting periodic faculty reviews and appointing review committees to support academic upgradation through training programs, courses, and technical advancements, ensuring alignment with current academic and industry requirements.
- Planning, monitoring, and executing the overall academic growth of the college, and making necessary recommendations to the Governing Council.
